Fondata nel 1980, Apex Microtechnology è stata acquisita nel 2007 da Cirrus Logic, un importante fornitore di componenti di elaborazione a segnale misto per i mercati audio ed energetico. Dopo un mandato di cinque anni come divisione di Austin, in Texas, sviluppatore basato su complessi progetti di chip, Apex Microtechnology è tornata a essere una società autonoma e privata con la vendita a un gruppo di investitori privati. La società ha sede a Tucson, in Arizona, USA.
